A new and enhanced ALP – now available to AMEA members
We are happy to announce that the latest version of the Agribusiness Leadership Program training curriculum – ALP 3.0 – is now available to all our members free of charge. In addition to ALP 3.0, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has released a new ALP course called Bookkeeping Essentials.
With ALP, IFC aims to transform smallholder agriculture by building the capabilities of cooperatives, associations, and other farmer organizations. ALP integrates assessment, training, coaching, and reassessment to help farmer organization leaders gain the knowledge and skills they need to run professional organizations.
ALP 3.0 contains the following enhancements:
12.5 days of training content (up from 10 days)
A module that supports women’s participation in farmer cooperatives
A module that helps cooperatives develop a vision for growth and a marketing plan
A revised introduction that better explains the ALP process
A revised cost management module that is more appropriate for target learners
A clearer and better-organized coaching guide
Supplementary instructions and materials for trainers
IFC is also releasing Bookkeeping Essentials for the first time. This course is for those who have financial responsibilities in a producer organization, but no formal training in bookkeeping or accounting.
IFC’s cooperation with AMEA began in 2016 with the release of ALP 1.0. Version 2.0 was released in 2017. If you are an AMEA member using either of these versions, please update your training materials. Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions about ALP 3.0 or Bookkeeping Essentials.
